Sri Kothakonda Veerabhadra Swamy Temple is located in Bheemadevarapally is a famous temple in Karimnagar. The presiding deity is Lord Shiva who is in the divine form of Sri Veerabhadra Swamy. Lord Veerabhadra Swamy is seen in this temple with a moustache.
Lord Veerabhadra Swamy Temple is an ancient temple dating back to the period of Kakatiya dynasty. It is located at the foot of the beautiful hills draped in greenery in Kothakonda of Karimnagar district.
- Architecture
The temple has a beautiful Rajagopuram on the entrance gate. There are three Dhwajasthambhas in the courtyard of the temple. There is a beautiful Nandi in total white installed before the sanctum sanctorum. The idol of Lord Veerabhadra Swamy with a moustache is said to have been installed by one Kedara Pandita during the reign of Kakatiyas. There are five ponds on the top of the hill. Of these, two are reported to have water in them even under severe drought conditions.
