        Sthala Puran

There is a fair of mother Nari Semri Devi in Narisemari village of Mathura . She is also called Nagarkot Devi. Maa Nari Semari Devi Temple is ancient. According to beliefs, Mata Nagar was a devotee of Goddess Wali. A man named Dhandhu, who wanted to bring Mata to his city of Agra. He appealed to the mother to seek the boon from Himachal Pradesh to come with her to Agra. Kangra Devi pledged to him and placed a condition that I will follow you back but if you look back, I will always be sitting in the same place forever. Dhandhu Bhagat accepted the condition of the mother but after coming to the village of Nari in Mathura, Dhandhu Bhagat turned around to see if the mother Kangra was coming.

As soon as Dhandhu turned and looked at Bhagat, Mother was seated at the same place. Since then, the Goddess is sitting here.

A miracle is also seen here in the Chadar Aarti. The specialty of this aarti is that it uses a lamp made of flour. She is then offered aarti with a burning lamp with a white cotton sheet. The family of Dhandhu Bhagat gets hold of the four corners . From beneath it, the plow of this fiery fire is rolled on that cloth. The flame of the lamp is rotated in such a way that the flame crosses the sheet but the sheet does not burn. This Aarti is called Chadar Aarti. This Aarti is the traditional aarti of the mother. The family members of Dhandhu Bhagat have been performing this traditional aarti for hundreds of years.
