- Sthala Puran
New Vedic Cultural Center (NVCC) or ISKCON NVCC is located in Kondhwa about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) south of Pune. The temple complex is built on 6 acres and it took seven years for construction. It took 40 Crore rupees to construct the temple. The temple was inagurated by the then Hon'ble President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee in 2013. It is one of the largest temple in Pune.
NVCC project is an educational, cultural and spiritual landmark of Pune, for catering to the holistic training of visitors from all walks of life and to revive their innate values culminating in love for the Supreme Lord and all living beings.
- Architecture
The temple complex has two temples- the main Radha Krishna temple and the Venkateswara (Balaji) temple. The Radha-Vrindavanchandra temple is built in North Indian architecture style using red stone and marble while the Venkateswara temple is built in South Indian architecture style (Similar to Balaji temple in Tirumala) using Kota stone.

- FestivalsEkadashiOf all vratas, Visnu is most pleased with those who observe the Ekadasi fast. It is said that a Vaisnava does not accept any eatable that is not offered to Lord Visnu, also it is strictly forbidden for one to accept any kind of grain on Ekadasi, even if it is offered to Lord.Youth FestivalThey serve as an oasis that is ‘life-giving and transforming’ in a stress–ridden society’ that is like a desert. Thus these festivals are committed to provide a facility like an Oasis in the middle of a desert to keep oneself surcharged in remembrance of the Supreme Lord Sri Krishna.Drama FestivalPerforming and producing dramas brings the community together. Devotees practice for months and annually on 2 days, the whole congregation witnesses these presentations of drama by devotees trained for months and attended by many Srila Prabhupada’s disciples.KirtanIt is held during the month of January for two and half days. It is received with great eagerness, spirits and numbers with the presence of great Kirtaniyas. The festival is aimed to spiritualise the vibrations on this planet, and simultaneously strengthen the devotion in our hearts.
- Sodasha Upcharas
- PrasadhasFood that has been offered to the Deities in the temple is known as maha-prasadam. Honouring (eating) this sanctified prasadam is the basis of bhakti-yoga and helps one to make tangible spiritual advancement. A portion of each preparation is arranged in Krishna’s personal plate and bowls. Fresh water is offered in His cup. A Tulasi leaf is placed on each preparation. Beginners may chant the maha-mantra Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare three times. For a more elaborate offering the prayers below are chanted three times each while ringing a bell. Although the offering is made to Krishna, it is done through the spiritual master, Srila Prabhupada, so we begin with prayers to his lotus feet:
