- Sthala PuranArulmigu Ellamman Temple is located in the south and south of Tiruvallikeni, in the fragrant areas of Chennai. The temple is located at a distance of about half a kilometer from the back of the historic Arulmigu Parthasarathy Temple, which is located at a distance of 1 km from the Blue River. The temple is believed to have been built about 300 years ago. Also, the temple office has a sculpture designed during the second century AD. Therefore, it can be known as the oldest and most ancient temple.Mother Ellamman is portrayed as a lioness in the sanctum facing east as a lioness towards the Bay of Bengal, which is the glorious garment of the land.In front of the Ambal Sanctuary, an altar has been erected near the flagpole.The statue of Sri Anjaneyar is carved in stone in front of the entrance of the temple.Next, go inside the temple and go to the left to see Sri Sakthi Ganesha.When you visit the temple inside the temple, you can see the south-facing deity Sri Dakshinamoorthy in the south. Next, Sri Vinayagar, Sri Valli Devasena Subramanian, Sri Kasi Viswanathar with Sri Kasi Visalachchi Ambal will bless the family members in the rounds.Next to it is the Vanni tree and the Nagalingam, the head of the temple.Next to the south side is the Ursavar Sannathi, Sri Ellamman Ursavar Sannathi and Sri Natarajar Ursavar Sannathi of the four idols including Somaskandar. The Navagraha Shrine and the temple office are located in the Isani corner of the outer courtyard of the temple.
The temple is open from 6.00 am to 11.00 pm and from 4.30 pm to 9.00 pm.
Nithya Puja is held daily at 8.30 am in the morning and at 5.00 pm in the evening.
It is conducted as a daily bi-monthly puja. Also, on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, there is a special backup of the devotees` wishes. The temple has been celebrating for twelve months. Every festival is celebrated very well.
Tamil New Year Birthday, 1008 Young Abhishek Festival, Chitra Pournami Festival, Vaikasi Visakam and Poochoriyal Flower Worship Festival in Vaikasi, Anithirumanjana Festival in Ani and Audi Prom Festival in Audi are held for 13 days. Also in Adippuram, 108 milk processions, chanting and chanting are celebrated for Ambal.
Navratri festival in Purattasi for 10 days, Gander Sashti festival in Ippasi for 8 days, Karthika lamp in Karthika, Karthika Nan Ku Soma weeks, special pujas, special puja for thirty days in Markazhi, Arutra festival, Thaipusam in Thai month, Masi maka festival in Masi. The Panguni Uttara Festival is held in Panguni and special decorative ceremonies and special pujas are held on the days of Krithika, Pradosham, Sangadahara Chaturthi and Pournami every month.
