        Sthala Puran
When Krishna gives milk to baby Krishna sent by his uncle Kamsan to kill Lord Krishna, baby Krishna gets drunk along with the life of Bhutanese monster. That is why this temple is given as Bhutanarayana Perumal. The temple was built by Krishna devotees in the pastVasudevar, Sri Krishna incarnated as the eighth child of Devaki. Knowing that his life was in danger due to the child, Kamsan tried in many ways to kill it (Krishna). He summoned a monster named Poothaki and ordered her to have a child. Accordingly if the boys go to the place where they are playing and take Bhutaki Krishna alone and mammal. Knowing who had come, Mayakkannan used Poothaki`s poison and killed her. Later, Sage Brighu asked Tirumala to show him the Krishnavatara Golam who had killed the monster. Listening to the request, Thirumal awoke arrogantly, performing the Bhutanarayana festival at Thiruvannamalai. With the passage of time, the sand covered Apperumala.
After many days, Thirumal appeared in the dream of a sage who lived in the area, and when he completely removed the nearby sand dune, Krishna was overjoyed to see that Thirumal`s archetype was there! முகுந்தா! Govinda! He worshiped and adorned himself with fragrant flowers and erected a temple there. Thus Emperuman looks north at the site, which has both mythological and contemporary history.
