The name of the temple is Nanmai Tharum 108 Vinayagar temple .
The temple has 108 vigrahams of Lord Vinayagar.
The tallest vigraham is 32 feet and known as “Maha Sankatahara Chathurthi Vinayagar”! He is also known as Valampuri Vinayagar, and is in the sitting posture on a broad ‘simhasanam’ and His crown is decorated with Lord Shiva carrying goddess Ganga on His head.
Led by Shanmugavel Stathapathi, a 15-member group of sculptors designed and sculpted the vigraham at Thirumuruganpoondi village near Tirupur.
It took 1 year and 4 months to complete the work. A single stone weighing 200 tons was procured from Coimbatore for this purpose.
There are 108 Ganesa statues
