Annapurna Temple is the oldest temple in Indore which was built in the 9th century. The statue of the main Goddess Maa Annapurna was established on 21 February 1959 in the temple. It was built in 1959 by Mahamandaleshwar Swami Prabanandagirimharaj. The main gate of the temple was constructed in 1975.

Apart from being one of the most revered shrines in the city, it is also one of the most popular tourist attractions in the region. A places visited by thousands every year, be it the pilgrims or the tourists, this temple is dedicated to Goddess Annapurna, the deity of food. What makes this temple even more special is the fact that it houses the shrines of Sivan, Hanuman and Kalabhairava. One of the things that make this temple such a popular attraction among tourists is the architectural grandeur and brilliance of the facade of this temple which is adorned with four-life size statues of elephants among other intricate carvings.

This Temple is also famous as Vaishno Devi of Central India. On the door of the Temple the Temple of Lord Bhairav has been also present. This way Lord Bhairavnath is always safeguarding the door of Bhagwati Godess Annapoorna.

 The Annapurna temple is a beautiful example of the magnificent union of Aryan and Dravidian architecture. The height of the Annapurna temple is more than 100 feet. Maa Annapurna Mandir is spread over 2 acres.

Temple's main entrance door is constructed in accordance with Southern Indian Architecture on the back of four large elephants. Inside the Annapurna temple, you will see the idol of Maa Annapoorna is shine with Maa Kali and Maa Saraswati.

The statue of Maa Annapurna is about three feet tall that is installed in this temple. Inside the campus of the temple, there are also various gods idols established such as Lord Shiva, Lord Hanuman, and Kalabhairava. There are four big-sized elephants built on the main entrance gate of the temple that increases the beauty of the temple.

There is also a big Krishna Mandir inside the Annapurna temple complex and you can also see the pictorial illustration of Lord Krishna's life on the temple walls. Temple's outer wall beautifully decorated with the legendary characters of Hindu mythological books.

A Permanent Yagynashala (Holy Fire Sacrifice Worship Place) is also made, and into which Holy Fire Sacrifice are performed occasionally, there is also a large Ved Bhawan Situated which is constructed very beautifully.
